Zena Parker - Branches
I’ve just realised that both my choices for 12 Days of Christmas are very nature based!
I really like this piece - Branches - because, although it’s obviously been screen printed, you can tell that the artist does lino printing, something in the lines, and I really like lino print. I find the process really cool, and I think you can see it in the style of this.
Even though the whole print is grey, rather than my favourite green, the background and trees are still so different and the sky seems to change colour from the top to the bottom.
I think this has a Christmassy look to it; it could be a snowy day. I think it might be a festive winter scene now I look at it more.
