Ever a man with wisdom, Kid Acne’s latest design highlights the repair, rehash, and recycle ethos. Of course, we’re in Yorkshire, so it’s been our mantra for decades!

Kid Acne

As a Sheffield based business, we relish working with Sheffield based artists and creatives. Kid Acne is one of the artists very close to the APG family, bringing his many talents and experience to bear on collaborations with us as we have developed exhibitions and studio projects over the years.

It’s hard to go anywhere in Sheffield without seeing one of his large, bold messages along the way, be it the colloquialisms we all live by, or the distinctive characters that make up the worlds he depicts.

And not just in Sheffield: Kid Acne is well-known on the international street art scene, and we are proud of our association with this prolific artist!

More about Kid Acne…

Kid Acne is a UK-based artist, illustrator, print-maker and emcee.

His formative years were spent writing graffiti, self-publishing fanzines and making experimental Hip-Hop – invariably designing and printing the record sleeves by hand. The culmination of these interests informed the development of his own unique aesthetic, which he has adeptly translated into various product designs, installations, graphics, animations and silkscreen editions.

A stalwart of the international Street Art movement, Kid Acne has painted large-scale murals across continents and exhibited work extensively over the past two decades. His art explores a variety of themes, from colloquialisms and typography, to mythology and architecture.

Rendered in a distinct illustrative style, Kid Acne’s work can be seen throughout the globe; from wheat-pastes in North America to museum walls in Western Australia. His images have adorned campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands, while the man himself continues to paint epic slogans in the back streets of South Yorkshire.

And he still has acne.

Want this piece ready to hang?

At APG, we don’t just sell prints, we sell that piece that has been missing from your wall. And no print is complete without a complementing frame to protect and showcase it. We work with artists to offer frames which allow the art inside to shine. Below are the Make Do & Mend prints in frames we have selected that work particularly well with these pieces, providing a fully finished bit of Sheffield artwork for your wall… everything but the nail!

Any of the prints can be ordered in the black or white float frames, or for an extra special finish, a hand-finished ash moulding.
