We developed an innovative method for laying down the colours in this print to reflect Daisy’s bold painterly style. There are 12 overlapping layers of only 4 thin translucent colours made up at just 30% of their usual strength. The combination of different shapes in each layer has given us a new level of range and tonality, creating a vibrant piece outside screen printing’s usual idiom of flat blocks of colour.
