Kid Acne // Standard Practice Show 06/02/14

In January 2014, a longstanding client and friend of APG Works had his Standard Practice Exhibition at the B&B Gallery Sheffield. It was an extensive collection of new and old works that span a period of 15 years. We are pleased to say that we do a lot of framing for Kid Acne and the B&B Gallery and it’s always a pleasure working with them.

Jo Peel Screenprint & Print Sheffield Show

In January 2014, we played a part in the production and framing of the Millennium Gallery’s Print Sheffield Show. It was a show that brought together Sheffield print makers including ourselves at APG Works, Kid Acne, EMA,Jo Peel James Green and many others. Many of the artists featured in the show already have a connection with APG and therefore come to us for framing and screen printing. Jo Peel commissioned us to screen print her image of the iconic Sheffield Park Hill Flats. This was a large 6 colour, limited edition screen print of 30 prints.

Studio Rack Shot: this print is available to buy framed at APG Works and from Jo Peel website.

Unleashing “Unleashed”... a portfolio of 6 new prints for Spring 2013

This coming Thursday evening, April 25th, we are hosting a preview evening to show our new portfolio of prints. The portfolio consists of 6 new pieces of artwork which have been screen-printed here at APG.

The artists are Tom J Newell, EMA, Jo Peel, Kid Acne, Jon Cannon, (shown above) & Laurence Harborne (below)

The artists have created a spectrum of ideas and inspiration that links their artwork into the theme of “Unleashed”. The prints will be going on sale from the 19th April with great deals on framing, when bought from the gallery, or online.

So, come and join us for a beer in the courtyard and take a look! Then (hopefully with it being a nice spring evening) ) come and join us in the beer garden at the Rutland Arms...

The portfolio is now available in our online gallery, and there will be a small number of presentation portfolios to buy with the full set of prints for a discount off the full price of the individual prints.

The show will also present other works from the APG catalogue by these artists, many of which be for sale. And look out for some of the deals on framing orders for these pieces throughout the show.

The portfolio is now available in our online gallery

Each year we host a series of short shows in the spring (spring? did someone say spring?) featuring the work of students at Sheffield Hallam University Art School, from the 2nd year Fine Art, Creative Arts Practice, and Graphics courses. This has grown and we now often see exhibitors from previous years return to do 2nd or even 3rd shows, and also from other Art Schools. Today, a group from Leeds Metropolitan University and Sheffield College are setting up for their event "Something Sheffield".

Exhibtions this March have come in the form of...

'Mark, Make, Print' by Joshua Kent

'At Odds' a group show by a number of Creative Art Practice students from Sheffield Hallam Univercity.

'Just Because' a colaboration of  graphic and print based work by Sheffield Hallam students.

'Something Sheffield' by a group of students from Leeds and Sheffield, who are hosting their live art and music events. CLICK HERE...
